Kanye West To Release 4th Album Before The Year Ends?

Kanye West could be releasing his fourth album as shortly as the end of this year.

Billboard reports how the rapper is on the job on the LP - the follow-up to 2007's 'Graduation' - and he's given his new record album a working title of 'Good Ass Job'.

One cut from the record, named 'Love Lockdown', is already a persona of West's recent live shows and rumors intimate he may perform it as the closing song at the VMAs this weekend. DJ Semtex has also been quoted as saying it could hit iTunes any day now.

It has been claimed 'Good Ass Job' could well be released in December, which means it could go headway to chief with Jay-Z's 'Blueprint 3' - an album West is currently producing.

Proms director Roger Wright on resurrecting concerts

A few things give changed since the Proms began back in 1895. Fifty years ago, only two Proms were televised. This year, there is a prime time slot every Saturday on BBC2, and regular broadcasts on BBC4. And 50 years agone, there was a great deal of concern about the front of the thing - sometimes more than the music itself. In 1958, an internal BBC memoranda about the opening night broadcast noted that a mezzo soprano's "dress was unanimously cordially disliked - has the Television Service not the right of discussing the matter of dress with soloists in order that they should look as well as possible on the screen? The cutaway shots to members of the audience should be handled with care. While the thoughtful girl made a most attractive picture and interfered in no way with the music, the shots of the youth in the gray topper and of the shop-girl wagging her head in clock time to the music ar frankly not conducive to concentration on the euphony, and I think bettor kept to the intervals between items." It was observed that some of the first-night promenaders wore "comic hats", and that the orchestra and conductor were greeted with streamers. This year's first-night audience was much better behaved.

One of the biggest changes we've seen has been the broadening of entree that radio, TV and interactive services now proffer. When Henry Wood and Robert Newman came up with their original vision for the Proms, of introducing new audiences to high-quality classic music, they could not have imagined the size and hand of today's global audience. Fifty age ago, the season ran for iI months - but not every night, as now. Then, in that respect were but 49 concerts (compared to 76 this year), and only pentad orchestras employed (33 in 2008). There were ballots for the first- and last-night tickets, and the programme usher (simply a list of concerts) was sixpence.

But the biggest difference was in the concerts themselves, which were unlike whatever concert you would wait to find out today. I am spell-bound by the art of putting a programme together, and so last month we presented a Prom from 1958 - an overture and a philharmonic by Mendelssohn, and a piano concerto and a symphony by Brahms. The hall was packed, and it prompted a riveting debate about the nature of today's programming. Are modern concerts too short? Is it too much for players to execute such a long program? And - most interestingly, given that we now have so much music available to us, all of the time - are audiences still weaponed to take in a concert of this distance? We did allow one concession to modern times and gave the audience a second interval. Did they really drink much less in 1958, or did audiences have stronger constitutions?

I am often stricken by how formulaic so much of our concert life has become. Is 7.30pm really the best time for a concert - and wherefore are they usually in two parts? Why execute a concerto in the first half, and a symphony in the

Goody denies nightclub fight story

'Big Brother' star Jade Goody has denied reports that she was involved in a fight with a woman in a nightclub.
The Mirror claimed that Goody was in a row at The Players Lounge nightclub in Essex and was photographed fighting with a blonde woman.
An onlooker told the newspaper: "Jade went for the girl and they pulled each other's hair and then they had their hands round each other's necks."
Goody however denied being in a row and said: "I was provoked by some stranger. She tried to put a glass in my face.
"The bouncers in the club were really good and they sorted it all out very quickly. I couldn't get anywhere near her.
"I haven't got much to say about it. She didn't get her hands on me and I didn't get my hands on her."
The onlooker added: "Jade went for the other girl... then the guards stepped in and she let rip at one of them, screaming and shouting right in his face. She had got into a real ruck with some girl in the club."

Swayze & Niemi Renew Their Wedding Vows

Cancer-stricken Ghost star Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa Niemi have renewed their wedding vows, according to U.S. reports. The couple jetted off to their New Mexico ranch to exchange vows again, before a small group of close friends. The actor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the beginning of 2008, and is fighting for his life, according to America's the Globe. Swayze and Niemi will celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary on 12 June and the actor is determined to live up to that date and beyond. An insider tells the publication, "He is refusing to give up, but right now he's living for today." The source insists the renewed wedding vows were very special for the couple: "It was very important to him (Swayze) to express his love and commitment to Lisa. They both mean the world to one another." The Globe recently revealed Swayze has drawn up his will to include plans for his own funeral, and he has settled all his affairs - just in case he suddenly loses his cancer battle. The Dirty Dancing star continues to undergo treatment in Stanford, California, but close friends insist the future doesn't look too bright for the movie star. One pal tells the Globe, "It's deadly serious. Doctors have told him that if or when the cancer spreads to his brain he has two weeks to live."

Norwegian black metal band Enslaved were formed in 1991 by guitarist/keyboardist Tvar Bjornson and bassist Grutle Kjellson; a demonstration coroneted Yggdrstll followed a year afterward. The group's official albums include 1994's Robert Frost, 1997's Eld, and 1999's Blodhemn. Personnel shifts have plagued the grouping passim its being; as of 1998, its membership included Bjornson, Kjellson, guitarist R. Kronheim, and drummer Dirge Rep. In fall 2000, the ring issued Mardraum.

Cate Blanchett - Blanchetts Humble Oscar Plans Flushed Away

Actress CATE BLANCHETT wanted to follow fellow Academy Award winner EMMA THOMPSON's lead and place her 2004 Oscar statuette in the bathroom - but was too proud to hide her award away.

The Australian star picked up the Best Supporting Actress gong for The Aviator at 2004's Academy Awards, and wanted to be modest about her win by displaying the prize in the lavatory.

But the star eventually decided to go against her humble plans, and ended up placing her award centre-stage - on top of her grand piano.

She says, "I thought about sticking it in the loo (toilet). I was going to be very witty and Emma Thompson about it.

"But I'm actually very proud of it so I ended up putting it on the grand piano because all my friends want to pick it up and pose with it."

Weezer Would "Love To Play Reading / Leeds Festivals"

Weezer have declared their wish to perform at the Reading and Leeds festivals this year, despite not being on the current line-up.

The band recently announced their return with this month's self-titled new album (also known as 'The Red Album') and speaking to BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat, bassist Scott Shriner says:

"I sure hope we can play Reading and Leeds, I personally would push for us to play there. I love doing those festivals, it's a blast and I feel like we could go on a lot of different stages there because there is such a good mix of music."

Shriner also admitted Weezer have already begun work on their next album, but it may be released in an unorthodox way:

"I really respect Radiohead and Trent Reznor for putting their own music on their own websites and releasing it on their terms. I think it's great that I can go to Nine Inch Nails' website and download the album for free."

"Our plan is to do the same where we can release our own music, sometime in the future."

Kylie Minogue - Martin Axes Minogue Lyrics

Pop princess KYLIE MINOGUE took time out of her busy schedule to record a vocal for British band COLDPLAY - but frontman CHRIS MARTIN erased it from the final cut.

The Spinning Around hitmaker - who shares the record label, Parlophone, with the band - agreed to add her vocals to a track on their forthcoming album Viva La Vida.

But Martin scrapped the star's input.

Martin says, "Kylie is awesome. She's like Girls Aloud rolled into one.

"I took apart the song she did with us, like a (electrical appliance) Corby trouser press."

Coldplay, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends

Official Release Date: June 17

The Verdict: According to reports, the continued existence of EMI depends in large part on whether Viva la Vida's sales meet expectations, so it's doubtful they're going to be very happy about its surprise Internet release yesterday afternoon. It's also probably unlikely that they're thrilled about Coldplay making a dark (for Coldplay) record with few obvious choruses and even fewer potential singles, but it's actually perfectly fine with us. To our surprise, we liked "Violet Hill" and "Viva la Vida," and, on a first listen, "Yes," "Lost!," "42," and "Death and All His Friends" aren't bad either. Chris Martin's clearly been listening to lots of Neon Bible, but Brian Eno's typically interesting production keeps things from sounding overblown or heavy-handed. Also, none of the lyrics sound cribbed from a ninth-grade earth-science textbook this time. Obviously this is doomed to fail commercially.
